As dream homes are built and existing homes are maintained, Lowry Doors’ customers have always expected quality products, fair prices, and excellent service. Starting from box springs and simple bed frames to today’s custom garage door offerings, Lowry Doors has been meeting customer expectations since 1950.

Rulon Lowry, founder of Lowry Doors, began building and installing garage doors crafted from wood and bed frames, and functional by means of box springs and other creatively used hardware. In 1950, Rulon formed the company and began developing a company focused on providing exceptional garage doors and service in Utah Valley.

Within a few years, they could purchase hardware from California to improve their products. Rulon’s son, Lynn Lowry, came into the business and also helped to implement purchasing premade garage door panels to go with the hardware, and greatly expanding the company and customer base. In 1969, Lynn took over the business and within a year built the current facility at 782 N. State Street in Orem.

Over the years, products and business practices changed, but the core principles of professional service only strengthened. Lynn was adamant that his employees provided his customers with top-notch service. Lynn was careful to hire the right team members to carry these ideals into the next generation. One of those hires, Scott Boulter, is the COO and has been with the company for over 30 years.

Ron and Dan Lowry, Lynn’s sons, and longtime family friend, Lewis Cowley, worked under Lynn and eventually purchased the business. Together, their success was found in maintaining the principles of the company whilst updating product offerings and implementing computer technology.

Today, under the continued direction of Dan and Lewis, Marshall Lowry, Dan’s son, heads Lowry Doors. His great grandfather was the founder, and Marshall represents the fourth generation of Lowry presidents. As the premier and oldest garage door company in Utah Valley, Lowry Doors services and sells to thousands of customers annually throughout the valley and further. Lowry Doors no longer uses the same products as Rulon did originally, but it will certainly always continue the legacy of professionalism through honesty and integrity.
